Off To The Races and Into History: BreyerFest 2018 Presents a Collection of Champions!

Horse Festival for all ages, July 13-15, Lexington, KY

Pequannock, NJ (July 10, 2018) An ‘Off to the Races!’ theme saluting Thoroughbred and Standardbred racehorses was already in the planning for the 29th annual BreyerFest when Justify made 2018 the second Triple Crown year in the last three for horse sport fans and, for fans of BreyerFest, it has coincided with one of the most electrifying lineups of equestrian celebrities, professionals and horse champions ever, starting Friday, July 13 through Sunday, July 15 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.

Thoroughbred racing fans won’t want to miss BreyerFest’s free seminars in the Visitor Center Theater, including a Panel of Women in Racing, hosted by legendary NBC Sports Triple Crown analyst and former Thoroughbred jockey, Donna Brothers, or the chance to meet Cozmic One, the first colt out of Zenyatta (winner of 19 consecutive races in a 20-race career) as part of the Thoroughbred Makeover Showcase presented by Retired Racehorse Project, featuring horses in the Thoroughbred Makeover training program or successfully performing in their second career.

In addition to more than a dozen Special Run, Special Edition, Store Special and Winner’s Circle Autograph horse models available during BreyerFest ‘Off to the Races!’ the official 2018 Celebration Horse is a Limited Edition Breyer® model of Brass Hat, a Thoroughbred champion who earned over $2.7 million in 40 starts over a seven-year racing career and set track records at Churchill Downs and Gulfstream Park before becoming an ambassador for Kentucky’s Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance, and Thoroughbred Horse Show Association show horse under the 12 year-old daughter of his racing trainer, William ‘Buff’ Bradley. Meet & Greet Autograph sessions with Brass Hat will take place daily.

Also available for autographs while presenting their real-life Breyer® Portrait Models will be some of the greatest names in the horse world:  Former jockey and two-time Kentucky Oaks winner Rosie Napravnik and OTTB Old Ironsides; 11x World Barrel Racing Champion and Hall of Famer Charmayne James and Scamper; Prue Critchley and imported Polish Arabian stallion Empres++++// and Joyce Sousa and endurance racing superstar, LV Integrity; and Mickey Burke, Sr. and Foiled Again, the richest harness horse in Standardbred racing history.

Love speed? Don’t miss the Charmayne James Barrel Racing clinics and learn what it takes to best the fastest around a cloverleaf or, if you’ve ever wondered how trick riders stay on while galloping around an arena, check out the Trick Riding clinics presented by Trixie Chicks. Also back by popular demand is Ride-A-Reiner, where guests can try their hand at riding a reining horse with NRHA Professional Brett Walters.

BreyerFest begins at 9:30 a.m. Friday with an Opening Ceremony in the Covered Arena led by the Young Guns Adult Quad with an appearance by Empress++++// before launching into a program of all-day activities including equestrian showcases and demonstrations, educational sessions on the Artistry of Painting Models, an Intro to Model Horse Showing, Breed and Color Characteristics, Arabian Horses: The Foundation of Racing and more, and daily performances by the Super Dogs®.
