Madison Rafacz Wins NRHA Adequan® NAAC Limited Non Pro on Whizenboonsmal

On Friday, the Limited Non Pro competition of the National Reining Horse Association Adequan® North American Affiliate Championships took place in the Adequan® Arena at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City.

Madizon Rafacz traveled all the way from Ocala, Florida, to win the Adequan® NAAC Limited Non Pro title on her horse Whizenboonsmal. The pair marked a 220 to best a field of more than 65 horses and also take top honors in the ancillary Limited Non Pro class that was run concurrently.

Rafacz, only 12 years old, won a bevy of prizes, including a Bob’s Custom Saddle, an Adequan® champion vest, a Platinum Performance jacket, a custom Montana Silversmiths trophy buckle, gift certificates to Bluebonnet and SmartPak, and Classic Equine product. She also earned more than $500.

Whizenboonsal is by Peptoleap and out of She Whiz A Star. “He’s a seven-year-old gelding I’ve had for almost two years. We’ve won a lot. He’s a once-in-a-lifetime horse,” Rafacz explained. “After today, he’s going to get lots of treats.”

Rafacz shared she wasn’t planning to show hard in the Limited Non Pro. “It went really good today, but I didn’t plan to do that good. I was planning to show bigger in the non pro on Tuesday,” she added. “He was just always there for me and he stopped great today. I’m feeling really good about the non pro on Tuesday.”

She will also compete in the NAAC Non Pro, NAAC Novice Horse Non Pro, and the NAAC Youth 13 & Under. “After that, we will have a break until the Florida Classic in 2020,” she said. “I thank my parents [NRHA Professionals Mark and Shannon Rafacz], Kyla Thurlow, Jenna Webb, and Stephen Graycheck. They’re always there for me.”

Finishing with the both the Adequan® NAAC and ancillary Limited Non Pro Reserve Championships was McKinnon Larcombe and Designed With Shine (Smart And Shiney x Taris Designer Genes) with a 219.5. Along with a check for $368, the pair won an Adequan® champions vest, a custom Montana Silversmiths trophy buckle, gift certificates to Bluebonnet and Platinum Performance, and product from SmartPak and Classic Equine.
