AustrianRHA Futurity: Non Pro Futurity Champions 3-year-old horses: Ewald Rifeser & Xtra Dun Wimpy in L4, Elena Kölbl & Gunners Lee Hook in L3 / Elena Kölbl & Gunners Lee Hook earn second Futurity Champion title / Sarah Ehrenreich claims Non Pro Futurity Championship L4 and L3, 4-year-old Horses

The Austrian Futurity Championship Non Pro in Level 4 was claimed by Italian Ewald Rifeser aboard Petra Burger’s Xtra Dun Wimpy (Wimpys Little Step x SLJ Dun Juice) who scored a 212. The palomino mare was bred by Smart Like Juice Inc. and started by Mathieu Buton Reining Horses. Ewald Rifeser rode this horse to the Reserve Champion title at the  Summer Slide in Italy in 3-year-old Snaffle Bit Reining and had been third with her ion the go round.

Jennifer Nixdorf and her mare Spooks Babe N Chic (Spooks Gotta Gun x Babe And Chic) became Reserve Champion scoring a 211.5. The two had been leading after the go round in L4 and L3. Spooks Babe N Chic was bred by Karin and Ruggero Prevedel. 23-year-old  Jennifer, who trains with Rudi Kronsteiner, was 2016 French Futurity Champion Non Pro and AustrianRHA Futurity Non Pro Reserve Champion. This show is Jennifer‘ s event anyway as her great stallion AB Peppy Diamond was Open Champion last night scoring a 230!

Denise Laengle and Whiz The Way (Walla Walla Whiz x Tuffy Solana) placed third. The horse was bred by Doris Hoefacher. The two had been leading after the go round in L1. 

What a great success: 19-year-old Elena Kölbl from Austria and her Gunners Lee Hook (Dr. Lee Hook x Joaquinspineoak) had become Austrian Futurity Champion Non Pro L1, 3-year-old horses the day before, and now they won the Futurity L3 Non Pro as well scoring a 214.5. Obviously Gunners Lee Hook is like his great sire: you can simply rely on him. Elenas has been highly successful in Youth classes through the years and earned team bronze for Austria at the FEI European Championship Young Riders 2014.

Jennifer Nixdorf and her mare Spooks Babe N Chic became Reserve Champion with Renata Rudolecka and her Paint Horse mare HH Be A Legend (Gunnersaurus Rex x Bit of a Diva) following on third place (207.5). The horse was bred by Miroslav Dolezal.

With a great 222.5, Sarah Ehrenreich and her Diabolika Gunmachine (Colonel Smoking Gun x Chic Luv Chocolate) claimed the Futurity Championship Non Pro L4 and L3 of the 4-year-old horses. The two had been second in the L4 go round and leading the L3 together with Franziska Wallner aboard Heidi Wallner’s Mai Tai Enterprise. Diabolika Gun Machine  and Sarah were Ltd. Non Pro Reserve Champion at the European Futurity and Res. Champion Breeders Futurity

The Reserve Championship  L4 was claimed by the best of the go round Chiara Bartoletti aboard her Holly Jolly Jaba (Jaba Oak x Smart Dolly Hickory), who scored a 221.5. With this mare, the young University student was 2016 IRHA Futurity Non Pro Level 4, 3 and 2. Chiara, who trains with Adriano Meacci, was 2007 Futurity Champion, 2008 NRHA of Germany Breeders Futurity Non Pro Champion, 2009 NRHA European Futurity Non Pro Level 3 and 4 Reserve Champion, FEI European Reining Championship Young Rider Team Silver Medal and Individual Gold Medal, 2010 NRHA European Futurity Non Pro Level 3 Reserve Champion, 2011 FEI European Reining Championship Young Rider Team Gold Medal as well as 2016 IRHA/NRHA Derby Non Pro Champion Levels 4, 3 and 2.

Two riders tied for third place honours in L4: Austrian Andreas Lukner aboard Onceuponastar (Spark N Whiz x Starmax RM) and Jürgen Pritz aboard Rose of Mercedes (Cromed Out Mercedes x Smooth Star Freckles)– both scoring a 218.

Reserve Futurity Champion L3 was Wolfgang Hammer aboard Mr Ricochet (Ricochet Rooster x Docs Oak Rosy), who scored a 220.Simone Eitzinger aboard Hannes Kirchberger’s Rowdys Smart Diamond (Hollywood Yankee Kid x GH Redskin Lady) placed third scoring a 219.
