Make Thanksgiving Buffet Reservations Now!

Even though you are away from home during the NRHA Futurity & Adequan® North American Affiliate Championship Show, you can enjoy a meal with your reining family thanks to the Thanksgiving Buffet hosted by the Reining Horse Foundation. The buffet takes place Thanksgiving Day, November 22, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Sale Arena at State Fair Park.

Over the past decade, exhibitors have come to appreciate the meal as a relaxing way to mark the holiday without leaving State Fair Park or searching for another dining option. The delicious buffet prepared by Impact Catering features traditional Thanksgiving dishes like turkey, mashed potatoes, vegetables, and desserts.

The Reining Horse Foundation, the nonprofit arm of the National Reining Horse Association, hosts the event as a goodwill gesture for the reining community. Annual fund donors to the Foundation’s Reiners Club receive buffet tickets at the Contributor, Partner, and Champion levels of $1,000 and above.

You’re encouraged to make advance reservations on or before November 21 to take advantage of the lowest pricing: $27 per adult, $10 for children 4-10; and free for ages 3-and-under. With an advance reservation, you can pay online when making your reservation or at the door.

Reserve here – Advance reservations help make sure there is enough food and seating; pricing increases to $50 per adult at the door and $20 for children 4-10.

Toyon Ranch Recognizes NRHA Affiliate Ambassadors

Nancy and John Tague, Toyon Ranch

For Immediate Release – September 21, 2018 – Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – Under a new affiliate sponsorship, Toyon Ranch of Pilot Point, Texas, is underwriting a program to recognize and involve National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) volunteers at the grassroots level in conjunction with the upcoming Sliders’ Night Out charity event.

Celebrating the NRHA Hall of Fame while benefiting the nonprofit Reining Horse Foundation (RHF), Sliders’ Night Out will be held November 28 in Oklahoma City at State Fair Park. The goal of the Affiliate Ambassador Recognition Program is to bring together a diverse community of reining ambassadors and to connect with the global reining community at multiple levels.

NRHA will reach out to its affiliates around the world to identify individuals making an impact on reining at the affiliate level. From each of eight U.S. affiliate regions, plus those in eastern and western Canada, South America, Mexico, Europe and Australia, a special selection committee will choose a representative and their guest to attend Sliders’ Night Out on November 28 at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City. Sliders’ Night Out coincides with the NRHA Futurity & Adequan® North American Affiliate Championship Show, regarded as the world’s premier reining competition, November 22-December 1.

These special affiliate ambassadors will be eligible to have a portion of their travel costs reimbursed and receive two complimentary reserved seats for Sliders’ Night Out, recognition in the commemorative program for them and their designated affiliate and two complimentary admission badges to the NRHA Futurity.

“John and I believe the contributions made by reiners across all levels of the sport are so valuable to the whole,” said Nancy Tague, who owns Toyon Ranch of Pilot Point, Texas, with her husband, John. “We are making a three-year commitment to present the Sliders’ Night Out event, and we want to make sure it is inclusive. We want the reining world to know that everyone can give back to the industry in some way. These affiliate volunteers are great examples of people who give their time and talents to make reining great.”

At Sliders’ Night Out 2018, past NRHA Hall of Fame inductees will be hosted and honored as special guests, and they will welcome new inductees Bill Bradley of Kentucky and the mare Dun It For Chex. In addition, equestrian, reining supporter and actor William Shatner will be recognized with the NRHA Dale Wilkinson Lifetime Achievement Award. Everyone is invited to make a donation to attend, and RHF Board members are encouraging reining breeders, owners, exhibitors, NRHA Professionals, affiliates corporate partners and supporters to contribute. From major event underwriters and Hall of Fame table hosts to single seat donors, every person’s contribution is important.

Gold and silver event donors and Hall of Fame table hosts can entertain Hall of Fame members as their table guests, bringing ample opportunities to mix and mingle with the icons of reining. The first Hall of Fame inductee was the late Dale Wilkinson, inducted in 1986. Today, the distinguished Hall of Fame includes nearly 100 people, horses and organizations for the sport that’s been in existence for more than a half century.
